About us

Make better-informed decisions about your future

Choosing what to study or which career to pursue can be overwhelming. Career Adviser brings together in-depth research on careers, education pathways, Australian universities, entry requirements, study costs and earning potential to help students and families explore their options with greater confidence.

Our mission

Our mission is to help thousands of Australian students make better-informed decisions about their future by making career and education research easier to access and understand.

Our approach

We believe every student deserves access to quality career and education information, regardless of their background or access to professional guidance.

We organise complex information into practical research that students, parents, teachers and career advisers can use to explore possibilities and make more informed decisions. Every career is laid out the same way, so two are easy to compare, and every claim is labelled as a verified fact, an estimate, an opinion or a forecast — visibly, on the claim itself, with its source.

Universities and course providers never pay to be included, ranked or placed. There are no sponsored listings and no affiliate links.

Supporting people, not replacing them

Career Adviser provides research and information to support decision-making. It does not replace personalised career counselling, professional advice or a student’s own judgement. We see it as a starting point for conversations with career advisers, teachers and families — the people who know a student best.

Entry requirements, costs, employment conditions and earnings change. Always confirm details with the institution and your state admissions centre before acting.

Why this exists

I built this as a parent, not a founder.

When my own child started asking what to study, I did what everyone does — opened twenty tabs and started scrolling. Hundreds of course units. Thousands of courses across dozens of universities, every site laid out differently, every ATAR, fee and placement rule buried somewhere different. After hours of it I still couldn’t hold two options side by side in my head, let alone compare them honestly.

So I built the thing I wanted: every pathway, every institution, what it costs and how long it takes, in one place, laid out the same way for every career — with every claim labelled, so you know what’s a checked fact and what’s an estimate.

It’s free to read because the hard part shouldn’t be behind a paywall. I’m sharing it because every parent I know has done the same twenty-tab scroll.

Who builds it

Career Adviser is built and operated by Cognify Labs, a Sydney-based software and AI studio. The same team designs, builds and runs the research pipeline that turns a career into a structured profile, the site that displays it, and the infrastructure it sits on.
